Understanding your rights and responsibilities at work is essential when arriving in Quebec, particularly when you are a temporary foreign worker (TFW). To make information more accessible and answer questions that many workers may have about their employment, Immigrant Québec presents “Ça jase,” a series of podcasts dedicated, among other things, to rights, labor standards, and occupational health and safety.
For InfoTET of Immigrant Québec, this initiative constitutes an additional resource allowing TFWs to access clear information adapted to their reality.
An Accessible Format for Learning in a Different Way
“Ça jase” is a project developed by Immigrant Québec to provide information through a dynamic and accessible format. The episodes address different questions related to settling in and professional life in Quebec, in collaboration with partners and people with expertise in the topics covered.
The first episodes are aimed in particular at temporary foreign workers and allow them to better understand some of their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.
Content Particularly Useful for Temporary Foreign Workers
This content is part of a broader approach to providing information about rights and responsibilities at work and is inspired by Immigrant Québec’s guide “Immigrant Persons — Your Rights and Responsibilities at Work.”
The first episodes cover two important topics for TFWs:
Episode 1 – Labor Standards That Protect Temporary Foreign Workers
This first episode provides an introduction to the labor standards applicable to temporary foreign workers and allows them to better understand the protections they may benefit from as part of their employment.
The content addresses, in particular, questions related to working conditions and workers’ rights, in order to allow them to better understand the rules governing their employment relationship.
Episode 2 – Workplace Accidents and Illnesses
The second episode focuses on workplace accidents and occupational illnesses.
Understanding what to do when a situation occurs at work, knowing the steps to take, and knowing which resources to turn to can be particularly important for a TFW.
Where Can You Watch or Listen to the Episodes?
The “Ça jase” episodes are available online, particularly on YouTube, and can also be listened to on different podcast platforms.

Good to know: the videos are available with subtitles, and YouTube allows you to activate automatic translation. This feature can be particularly useful for Spanish-speaking TFWs who wish to follow the content in their language.
