“On roule ensemble” Activity for Temporary Foreign Workers in Granby

Granby, May 23, 2026 — The “On roule ensemble” activity for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) took place in Granby at the Pavillon Norbert Talbot, organized by Granby Industriel through Gloria Amparo Brand Escobar.

Temporary Foreign Workers from Cameroon, Colombia, Mexico, and Madagascar participated in this welcoming and inclusive gathering.

The morning began with a presentation on the benefits of cycling, as well as road safety rules and the local cycling network. This first part took place with the presence of the local police and several organizations from Granby involved in promoting cycling. Participants were able to ask practical questions, particularly regarding the use of headphones, helmet use, and bicycle lighting.

Afterwards, a cycling ride was organized in the surroundings of Granby. This outing allowed participants to discover the local cycling network in a pleasant atmosphere, and several highlighted this experience as a meaningful moment of conviviality and sharing.

This type of activity plays an important role in the social integration of Temporary Foreign Workers by providing safe and accessible spaces that encourage community participation, local exploration, and the strengthening of ties between participants and the host community.

During the activity, Jonathan Buitrago, Regional Coordinator of InfoTET at Immigrant Québec, presented the InfoTET Québec program as well as the services offered to Temporary Foreign Workers, facilitating their access to information and available resources in the region.

A special thank you is extended to Gloria Amparo Brand Escobar for organizing this enriching activity.
