On July 3rd, ABL (Accueil Basses-Laurentides), an organization dedicated to supporting temporary foreign workers (TFWs) in our region, held its Annual General Meeting at the Maison du citoyen in Saint-Eustache. The gathering took place in a warm, interactive, and emotionally rich atmosphere, reflecting ABL’s deep commitment to its mission.
One of the most unique aspects of the event was the distribution of fun, interactive questionnaires to all attendees. This activity provided a dynamic and clear presentation of ABL’s accomplishments and progress over the past year, highlighting the positive impact of its work on the lives of TFWs.
The most memorable moment of the evening was undoubtedly the leadership transition: Alain Marginean, co-founder of ABL and Executive Director for 20 years, passed the torch to Marjorie Régimbeau, who will now lead the organization through new challenges. This change was met with a heartfelt standing ovation, honoring Alain’s legacy and expressing confidence in Marjorie and her team.
Marjorie and her team are committed and motivated to continue providing personalized, high-quality support to the temporary foreign workers in the region. Their goal is to remain a vital source of assistance, guiding workers through their processes and informing them of their rights.
The evening concluded in a spirit of sharing and connection, true to the values of ABL: a people-centered, innovative organization, always looking toward the future to help build a better life for temporary workers.
ABL is dedicated to supporting temporary foreign workers in the region. If you are one and need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to their team.
