On October 11, around sixty temporary foreign workers (TFWs) came together for an exceptional fall day at Mont Gleason — an activity organized to promote connection, relaxation, and well-being for those who contribute to our region.
These workers come from diverse backgrounds — Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Cameroon, and Mauritius — and are active in several key sectors of the local economy, such as industrial production, hospitality, and the wood industry. Their daily contributions are essential, and this day was the perfect opportunity to thank them and strengthen our connection.
The outing began in Victoriaville, where participants boarded a bus to head to Mont Gleason. Once there, everyone took the chairlift to reach the summit of the mountain. At the top, a well-deserved moment of rest allowed everyone to enjoy a spectacular view of Quebec’s colorful fall landscapes.
It was also an opportunity to distribute the new edition of the informational guide for TFWs, handed out by Jonathan Buitrago, Regional Coordinator of infoTET Québec. This direct exchange created a space to answer their questions, listen to their experiences, and better understand their needs.
These warm interactions are at the heart of our mission: to better support and equip temporary foreign workers throughout their journey in Quebec.
The descent down the mountain was done on foot, in a friendly atmosphere, surrounded by vibrant leaves and shared smiles.
