Success of the PSTM Space at the SIIQ Spring 2025

Information, Support, and Proximity for Temporary Foreign Workers

Montreal, May 14–15, 2025 — The Migrant Worker Support Program (PSTM), funded by the Government of Canada and coordinated in Quebec by Immigrant Québec, had a major highlight during the Quebec Immigration and Integration Fair (SIIQ). For the very first time, the event featured a space entirely dedicated to promoting the program and its participating organizations across the province.

A total of 26 booths were set up to welcome the organizations involved in the project in Quebec. These initiatives are led by local organizations that provide information, guidance, and support to temporary foreign workers (TFWs), including agricultural workers.

During the event, many TFWs were able to learn about the available resources specific to their region and industry. The consulates of Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, and Guatemala hosted interactive workshops and provided information on administrative procedures and consular protection, further enhancing the practical and human aspects of the initiative.

The presence of all these partners helped boost the visibility of the PSTM as an essential tool for improving the information and support offered to temporary foreign workers.

An informational guide for TFWs was also distributed. It is available in French, English, Spanish, and Tagalog to ensure inclusive access to essential information about their rights and responsibilities, available services, and working conditions in Quebec.
