Sports, Integration and Well-Being: Soccer Activity for TFWs in Chambly

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, a recreational soccer activity was held for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in the city of Chambly, organized by Intégration Compétences, with the participation of InfoTET d’Immigrant Québec.

During this enriching evening, we had the pleasure of welcoming temporary foreign workers from the Montérégie region, whose diverse participation added great value to the event. Participants came from Colombia, Guatemala, Morocco and Haiti, creating a meaningful space for cultural exchange, social interaction, integration and mutual support.

This activity provided an excellent opportunity to break away from the winter routine, encourage physical activity, promote emotional well-being, and strengthen social bonds among workers in a warm, inclusive and respectful environment.

During the event, the InfoTET d’Immigrant Québec team had the opportunity to listen directly to the experiences, realities and daily challenges faced by temporary foreign workers, fostering a valuable space for dialogue, trust and connection. These exchanges helped deepen our understanding of their journeys and highlighted the importance of timely support and appropriate resources to promote their professional stability and successful integration.

In addition, a very enriching discussion took place with two Guatemalan workers from the poultry sector, who enthusiastically shared their experience in different stages of the production process. Their testimonies highlighted the pride, motivation and commitment they bring to their work, reflecting the high level of professionalism that characterizes TFWs and their valuable contribution to the development of the sector.

Furthermore, Jonathan Buitrago, Regional Coordinator of InfoTET, took the opportunity to present the InfoTET Québec program and distribute the new edition of the informational guide for temporary foreign workers. This moment of direct interaction allowed participants to ask questions, share experiences and express their needs, reinforcing InfoTET’s mission to support them and provide practical tools for their journey in Quebec.

At InfoTET d’Immigrant Québec, we firmly believe that events like this are essential to strengthen inclusion, empower TFWs and promote their overall well-being across the province. We therefore remain committed to supporting initiatives that encourage information, training, active participation and meaningful integration for those who contribute daily to Quebec’s social and economic development.

We sincerely thank Yessica Aguirre and Kana Yoko, as well as the entire Intégration Compétences team, for the excellent organization of this activity and for bringing energy, warmth and positivity during the winter season.
