Mobile Sexual Health Clinic for TFWs in Mirabel: Prevention, Access, and Well-being

On June 27, 2026, a mobile screening and sexual health clinic for temporary foreign workers (TFWs) was held in Mirabel, an initiative led by the Centre d’intégration en emploi Laurentides (CIE Laurentides), under the coordination of Déborah Lopez, Liaison Officer – Diversity and Inclusion, with the participation of InfoTET Québec and several organizations committed to workers’ well-being.

This free clinic aimed to facilitate access to prevention and screening services in a confidential, safe, and welcoming environment. Participants received information in Spanish, access to sexual health counseling, and various screening tests, contributing to the promotion of preventive health among TFWs.

The Dispensaire de Saint-Jérôme actively contributed by sending a nurse and a nurse practitioner to conduct tests and answer participants’ questions, ensuring professional and accessible care.

More than 20 temporary foreign workers from the company Savoura took part in this initiative, demonstrating a growing interest in accessible healthcare services tailored to their realities.

The event also highlighted the important role of community organizations. CALPAHC presented its mission of health information, prevention, and awareness, while the Centre d’aide aux familles latino-américaines (CAFLA), represented by Eliana Jaramillo, was present to answer questions related to mental health and available support resources.

As part of this activity, the InfoTET Québec program was presented to participants by Nicolas Bellier, Project Director at InfoTET of Immigrant Québec. This intervention helped raise awareness about key resources available to TFWs, as well as practical tools regarding their rights and responsibilities, in addition to services available across the province. The exchanges were particularly meaningful, allowing for a better understanding of workers’ needs and reinforcing InfoTET’s mission: to provide clear, accessible, and useful information throughout their stay in Quebec.

This initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between community organizations, healthcare institutions, employers, and local partners to promote the health, well-being, and integration of temporary foreign workers across Quebec.
