InfoTET supports Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in Saint-Césaire during an information day

On November 21, InfoTET at Immigrant Québec took part in an information session organized by L’Ancre and Intégration Compétences, with support from Justice ProBono. The session was intended for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) affected by the upcoming closure of the Nortera plant in Saint-Césaire.

About ten workers attended the meeting to receive clear and practical information about the implications of the closure, get answers to their questions, and learn about the resources available in the region. The presence of Nicolas Bellier, Project Director, and Jonathan Buitrago, Project Coordinator at InfoTET, helped support the TFWs and ensured that the information was delivered in an accessible and easy-to-understand way.

During the session, Me Frédérique Forget, lawyer at Justice ProBono, clearly and accessibly presented the steps the workers could take, the resources available to them, and how to organize their documents and work-related files. The session took place in a relaxed and participatory atmosphere, allowing Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) to ask questions and receive concrete answers.

This meeting was also made possible thanks to the efforts of Karla Duenas from L’Ancre and Kana Yokoo from Intégration Compétences, who created a welcoming space where workers could get informed and feel supported.

This activity highlights the importance of providing reliable and accessible information to TFWs, especially during periods of uncertainty. Such meetings help workers better understand their situation, plan their next steps, and access the appropriate resources.

InfoTET at Immigrant Québec reaffirms its commitment to being close to TFWs—listening to them, informing them, and supporting them in their daily integration in Québec—while ensuring they have access to practical and useful information that helps make their professional and personal lives easier.
