On July 27, 2025, a special mass was held in the city of Laval in honor of the temporary foreign workers (TFWs) in the agricultural sector. Around 40 workers from various countries participated in this moment of reflection, in a warm, respectful, and gratitude-filled atmosphere.
The event was organized with the collaboration of several key partners, including CAFLA, FERME, CNESST, and consular representatives. During the ceremony, the diplomatic representatives took the opportunity to express their recognition of the TFWs for their valuable contribution to the agricultural and social development of Quebec, highlighting the importance of their presence and work in the daily life of the province.
One of the most emotional moments was the special blessing offered by the priest to the workers, giving them words of encouragement and support in their daily efforts, far from their homes and families.
Such initiatives not only strengthen community ties but also promote inclusion, respect, and recognition for those who play a crucial role in Quebec’s agricultural sector.
InfoTET Québec actively participated in the event, represented by its regional coordinator, Jonathan Buitrago, who took the opportunity to engage with the workers and reaffirm the organization’s commitment to human and accessible support.
Copies of the Temporary Foreign Worker Guide in Quebec were distributed. This essential document provides TFWs with clear information on their rights and responsibilities, available services, and support resources.
We sincerely thank all the individuals and organizations that made this initiative possible. Their commitment has a real and positive impact on the lives of temporary foreign workers, contributing to a more humane and supportive integration.
