On November 28, 2025, Granby Industriel organized a festive dinner in Granby, QC, for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs). The event aimed to celebrate the end of the year, acknowledge the arrival of winter, and offer a space for connection, joy, and appreciation for TFWs in the region.
About fifty TFWs took part in this wonderful event. Participants came from various countries, including Madagascar, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Colombia, and Guatemala. The activity also served to highlight their valuable contributions at work and remind them that the program remains available to support them regarding their rights and responsibilities.
It was also an opportunity to distribute the new edition of the information guide for TFWs, handed out by Jonathan Buitrago, Regional Coordinator of InfoTET Québec. This moment of direct engagement made it possible to answer their questions, listen to their experiences, and better understand their needs. These warm exchanges are at the core of our mission: to support and provide tools to temporary foreign workers throughout their journey in Quebec.
Thanks to the warm organization by Gloria Amparo Brand Escobar, participants were able to dance and take part in fun challenges, such as moving a cookie from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands, or placing as many balls as possible into a box while blindfolded and using only a spoon. These activities generated laughter, enjoyment, and a festive spirit, highlighting the importance of socializing and meeting new people within the TFW community.
A big thank-you to Gloria Amparo Brand Escobar for her dedication and exemplary commitment in making this event possible, as well as to Granby Industriel for organizing this celebration. Thanks to their involvement, TFWs in Granby were able to enjoy an unforgettable evening filled with friendliness, joy, and recognition.
