Gathering Experiences: TFWs Discover the Tradition of Apple Picking in Mont-Saint-Grégoire

On September 20, 2025, a group of Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) had the opportunity to participate in one of Quebec’s most beloved fall traditions: apple picking in the orchards.

The activity took place in the charming orchards of Mont-Saint-Grégoire, QC, in collaboration with L’Ancre and FERME Contigo, who made this enriching and well-organized day possible.

During this outing, the TFWs were able to discover different varieties of apples grown in the region and enjoy a friendly outdoor moment, sharing this typically Quebecois experience in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.

Representing Immigrant Québec, Jonathan Buitrago, regional coordinator of the InfoTET program, was present. He took the opportunity to engage with the workers, listen to their experiences, and strengthen the support networks available in the region. He also distributed the latest editions of the InfoTET guide, an essential tool to inform workers about their rights, resources, and services available in Quebec.

Beyond the harvesting activity, this day helped strengthen bonds among colleagues and create a connection with the local culture through a simple but meaningful activity, rooted in Quebec’s fall heritage.

We would especially like to thank FERME Contigo, whose support was essential for the smooth running of the event, allowing the TFWs to fully experience this beautiful fall tradition.
