Christmas Celebration for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

On November 29, 2025, a Christmas celebration for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) took place in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, organized by Karla Duenas from Droit à l’emploi, service L’ANCRE. The event was mainly intended for newly arrived TFWs in the area and offered a warm gathering with food, music, and small gifts.

TFWs from Colombia, Brazil, Nicaragua, and Morocco participated in the activity, accompanied by their families. The event was an excellent opportunity to kick off the holiday season and share a friendly moment with the region’s TFW community.

It was also the occasion to distribute the new edition of the information guide for TFWs, handed out by Jonathan Buitrago, regional coordinator of InfoTET Québec. This moment of direct exchange made it possible to answer their questions, listen to their experiences, and better understand their needs. These meaningful interactions are at the heart of our mission: to support and provide tools to temporary foreign workers throughout their journey in Québec.

The event highlighted the importance of creating connections, meeting new people, and feeling integrated into the local community—especially for those who are just beginning their experience in Québec.

A special thank-you to Karla Duenas and to Droit à l’emploi, service L’ANCRE, for their dedication in organizing this celebration, which allowed newly arrived TFWs to enjoy a warm, joyful, and memorable afternoon.
