On Saturday, March 28, 2026, a discovery and well-being day was held in Mont-Laurier for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) employed by Les Entreprises PITRE. The activity took place in the town\u2019s high school gymnasium, bringing participants together in an environment of social interaction, sports, and exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main objective of this initiative was to provide workers with a space different from their work environment, allowing them to share with colleagues, strengthen bonds, and take part in recreational activities that promote group cohesion. Sports, particularly soccer, became a key tool for connection, integration, and a positive moment of disconnection.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, the day included awareness sessions on mental health and public health, highlighting the importance of overall well-being, self-care, and prevention, especially for people living a migration experience far from their country of origin.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The participation of the <\/span>Centre d\u2019aide aux familles latino-am\u00e9ricaines (CAFLA)<\/b><\/a> made it possible to present an approach focused on the physical and emotional well-being of workers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy balance during their work experience in Qu\u00e9bec. This type of gathering allows for meaningful discussions about the realities faced by TFWs on a daily basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

The activity also included collaboration with the Interpreter, <\/span>Service d\u2019Interpr\u00e8te, d\u2019Aide et de R\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux Immigrants (SIARI)<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Centre d\u2019int\u00e9gration en emploi Laurentides (CIE Laurentides)<\/b><\/a>, whose commitment and presence contributed significantly to the quality of support provided to participants. Their joint work with other stakeholders strengthens the community support network dedicated to temporary foreign workers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the recreational aspect, the day stood out as a human space of connection, listening, and respect, where workers were able to share experiences and feel supported within their workplace and community.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
