On January 14, a <\/span>cultural workshop for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs)<\/b> was held at <\/span>Les Serres Savoura<\/b>, located in <\/span>Sainte-Sophie<\/b> in the Laurentides region. The activity provided an opportunity to introduce participants to the <\/span>goals and resources of the <\/b>InfoTET<\/b><\/a> program<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The workshop, titled <\/span>\u201cPresentation of the Laurentides \u2013 practical tips on transportation, gastronomy, cultural activities, community life, and much more,\u201d<\/b> was coordinated by <\/span>Deborah Lopez, liaison officer at <\/b>CIE Laurentides (Centre d\u2019int\u00e9gration en emploi Laurentides)<\/b><\/a>, the local partner of <\/span>InfoTET\u2019s PSTM<\/b>. More than twenty TFWs, mainly from <\/span>Guatemala, El Salvador, and Mexico<\/b>, attended. Despite starting their workday as early as 6 a.m., participants attended with enthusiasm, showing genuine interest and commitment that was highly appreciated by the organizers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop provided practical information about the Laurentides region to support <\/span>social and community integration for TFWs<\/b>. Key topics included <\/span>transportation<\/b>, <\/span>local gastronomy<\/b>, <\/span>cultural activities<\/b>, <\/span>community life<\/b>, and other essential aspects of daily life in Quebec.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the activity, <\/span>CIE Laurentides<\/b><\/a> distributed the <\/span>new edition of the <\/b>InfoTET<\/b><\/a> information guide<\/b> and explained the purpose of the program, helping workers understand the <\/span>services, resources, and tools available<\/b> to support them in their journey in Quebec.<\/span><\/p>\n

The session took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Participants shared a moment around <\/span>pizzas and beverages<\/b> and tried traditional Quebec desserts for the first time, such as <\/span>sugar pie<\/b> and <\/span>carrot and walnut cake<\/b>, creating spaces for interaction, dialogue, and connection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Representatives from the <\/span>Human Resources department at Les Serres Savoura<\/b> were also present, reinforcing the message that workers have support from both their employer and community organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

At <\/span>InfoTET<\/b><\/a> of <\/b>Immigrant Qu\u00e9bec<\/b><\/a>, we strongly believe that initiatives like this are essential to <\/span>strengthen inclusion<\/b>, <\/span>inform TFWs<\/b>, and <\/span>ensure access to reliable information<\/b>. We will continue to support actions that promote <\/span>integration, well-being, and recognition<\/b> for Temporary Foreign Workers who contribute actively to the development of our province.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
