On <\/span>December 13<\/b>, a Christmas dinner was held in the city of Qu\u00e9bec, specially organized by the <\/span>Service d\u2019orientation et d\u2019int\u00e9gration des immigrants au travail (SOIT)<\/b><\/a> for <\/span>40 temporary foreign workers (TET)<\/b>, in a warm, festive, and friendly atmosphere. This event aimed to recognize and thank them for their work, commitment, and participation in various activities throughout the year, providing a space for gathering, exchange, and celebration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants came from <\/span>Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, Chile, and Ecuador<\/b>, and currently work in different sectors such as <\/span>restaurant services, welding, mechanics, and company production<\/b>, reflecting the diversity of experiences and paths that make up temporary migration in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/span><\/p>\n

For <\/span>InfoTET<\/b><\/a> d\u2019Immigrant Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>, this type of activity represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen social connections and support <\/span>integration into life in Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>, especially during significant periods such as the holiday season, which can be sensitive for those far from their home countries and families.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The evening began with a very popular activity: at each table, participants were asked to <\/span>assemble and decorate a Christmas house<\/b> according to their creativity. At the end of the night, the winning house was chosen by applause, in an atmosphere full of laughter, enthusiasm, and camaraderie.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was also an occasion to distribute the <\/span>new edition of the informational guide for TET<\/b><\/a>, handed out by <\/span>Jonathan Buitrago, Regional Coordinator of InfoTET Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>. This direct exchange allowed questions to be answered, experiences to be shared, and needs to be better understood. These warm interactions are at the heart of our mission: <\/span>to accompany and provide tools to temporary foreign workers during their journey in Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The dinner was marked by <\/span>gratitude, fellowship, and recognition of the journey shared together<\/b>, highlighting the importance of creating spaces where temporary foreign workers can connect, feel supported, and strengthen their sense of belonging during their stay in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/span><\/p>\n

We especially thank <\/span>Ana V\u00e9ronica Salazar<\/b> and <\/span>Elizabeth Montano<\/b> for their excellent work and commitment in organizing this activity, as well as <\/span>SOIT \u2013 Service d\u2019orientation et d\u2019int\u00e9gration des immigrants au travail<\/b><\/a> for its involvement and collaboration in making this meaningful gathering possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

At <\/span>InfoTET<\/b><\/a> d\u2019Immigrant Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>, we believe that events like this are essential for strengthening <\/span>inclusion and the integration of temporary foreign workers into life in Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>.
