On December 11, <\/span>InfoTET d’Immigrant Qu\u00e9bec<\/b> had the honor of being invited by the <\/span>Consulate General of Mexico in Montreal<\/b> to the vernissage of the photo exhibition <\/span>\u201cMy Struggle for Rights: Hands That Leave Their Home to Sustain Other Lands\u201d<\/span><\/i>, a deeply human exhibition that highlights the reality of temporary migrant workers in Canada\u2019s agricultural sector and recognizes their valuable contribution to our society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organized by the Consulate General of Mexico in collaboration with the <\/span>Centre for Immigration in the Regions (CIR)<\/b>, the exhibition was presented as part of the <\/span>International Migrants Day<\/b>, a key occasion to reflect on the paths, challenges, and contributions of migrants in different contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The photographs on display capture stories of effort, resilience, and solidarity, reflecting the experience of those who leave their place of origin to work in Canadian agricultural fields. Temporary foreign workers, many of them from Mexico, play an essential role in the country\u2019s agriculture and are an active part of Quebec\u2019s economic and social life, even though their presence is temporary in nature.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For <\/span>InfoTET d’Immigrant Qu\u00e9bec<\/b>, participation in this type of activity represents an important opportunity to strengthen information, understanding, and support for migrant workers in their process of adaptation and integration into life in Quebec. Cultural spaces like this one help foster dialogue, recognition, and a deeper understanding of the realities experienced by migrants during their stay in the province.<\/span><\/p>\n

The opening was enriched by the participation of the <\/span>Ch\u0153ur Latino and the screening of the documentary <\/span>\u201cBetween Two Lands\u201d<\/span><\/i> by director <\/span>Julio Venegas, adding an artistic and community dimension that highlighted the experiences, dreams, and challenges of temporary migration.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
