Last weekend, the recreational park in Berthier-sur-Mer was the setting for an unforgettable day for more than 90 temporary foreign workers (TFWs) from Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Madagascar. Organized by the CDEMM and led by \u00c9lyse Mercier, this soccer tournament was not just a sports competition\u2014it was a true celebration of community, diversity, and integration.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Under clear skies and bright sunshine, teams made up of TFWs faced off in matches full of energy, respect, and good vibes. Beyond the final scores, the most important thing was sharing laughter, building friendships, and enjoying moments of camaraderie on the field. At the end of the day, the Guatemalan team took home the champion\u2019s trophy, but every participant was a true winner.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After the physical effort, participants enjoyed a delicious barbecue with hot dogs and cold drinks. It was the perfect opportunity to relax, chat, and continue strengthening the bonds between colleagues and members of the local community.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the event, the Infotet Qu\u00e9bec team, accompanied by its project director Nicolas Bellier, was present to distribute informational guides and explain to the workers the mission of the Infotet program, funded by the Government of Canada. The objective was to provide TFWs with tools and information to know their rights, access services, and have a safer and more supported work experience.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Representatives from CAFLA and Justice Pro Bono were also present to offer legal advice and support to those who needed it. Their presence was greatly appreciated by the participants, who were able to resolve their questions and feel heard.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
