The infographic is intended to give simple, easy-to-read information on the Tipline, and instructions on when and how to call.\u00a0Available in English, Spanish, and French, the infographic includes a QR code that links directly to more information from the Program\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/services\/foreign-workers\/protected-rights.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"36\">Your Rights are Protected<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0webpage, available in nine languages.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">Our confidential tipline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Callers can talk to live agents that offer services in 200 languages, Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. eastern time. After hours, callers can leave a message and an agent will return their calls.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-CA\">Updated: Reporting Abuse \u2013 Online Form for Consulates and Support Groups<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">The\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/employment-social-development\/services\/foreign-workers\/report-abuse.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"37\">online form to report abuse<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0of\u00a0temporary foreign workers\u00a0for consulates and support groups has recently been updated. Now, it immediately directs users to a webpage where they can give key information to validate a tip. Information from this page will be sent directly to Service Canada for timely review and action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u201c<i>Anyone can use the Tipline to report abuse. All reports are taken seriously and are kept confidential. We will never reveal to the employer who filed the report. However, information from the tip may be shared with other Canadian government departments or agencies who can help.\u201d<\/i><\/span><i><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"en-CA\">REMINDER: Employment Agreement<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><span lang=\"en-CA\">On or before the first day of work, the employer\u00a0<i>must<\/i>\u00a0complete an employment agreement with each temporary foreign worker.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-CA\">The agreement must be in English or French (Canada\u2019s official languages) depending on the temporary foreign workers\u2019 choice.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-CA\">The employment agreement\u00a0<i>must<\/i>\u00a0reference the same wage, occupation and working conditions as those outlined in the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-CA\">Both the temporary foreign worker<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0and the employer\u00a0<i>must<\/i>\u00a0sign this agreement. On or before the first day of work, the employer must give the temporary foreign worker\u00a0a signed copy and keep their own copy.\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-CA\">Sample templates of \u2018employment agreement\u2019 are available to employers, but they are free to develop and use their own agreement, provided it contains all necessary information. For the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) only, a Spanish version of the template is also available for reference purposes.
